Mel's Fish to Great!Lakes Candy When we purchased Mel's Fish in early 2007, an era was ended for Mel's Fish, a long standing & popular smoked fish shop in Knife River, MN. Transforming the shop from fish to candy was lots of work, but great fun too. It's exterior needed little change as it was the perfect design for a candy shop. Inside, we made more changes, but kept Mel's original 1950's fish case, a wonderful display case for our candies. We hope you enjoy the photos of our transformation, below. Thanks to all for a great first season & looking forward now to 6th season in 2012! |
